Found the perfect spot to fill extra time between landing at LGA and hotel. Very nice location in a suburb. Service was on point! Isn't that why we dine out? So we don't have to do it ourselves? Ordered the seafood. Mussels were just what I was craving. The salmon was deliciously tender and tasty. The shrimp, while beautifully plated, were a bit over-cooked. I would order it again. Topped with delightful, light dessert. Was splendid. Go! Just Go!
It's a small restaurant with a big presence on the block! We arrived on a Sunday night around 5pm and we were lucky to get a seat! Despite the crowd the food came without delay except they forgot our salad.
I was eying this place ever since moving into the neighborhood and I finally visited when family came into town. The place held up to my expectations I can see why it is always busy. The staff is friendly, we did not wait for a table, and everything was served in good time. For food we did steak, salmon, lemon potatoes, and calamari, everything was so so good and the portions were big. I will definitely be coming back
I had dinner with friends at this old school Greek restaurant that was a real treat. ???? The food was truly delicious, oozing with traditional authentic flavours ... that managed to transport me to many happy memories of great family meals in Greece. ???????? The service was very friendly and their Greek wine list, one of the best I've come across during this trip to the area ... with very reasonable prices too! ???? I'm definitely going back for more ...asap! ??
Excellent food, a bit on the pricy side compared to other Greek places around but great food. The moussaka was great, served in a small dish, definitely worth sharing. We ordered daily speciality and were not disappointed. Our sever was lovely, she had a very authentically welcoming vibe, could be the Greek hospitality; but I loved how genuine she presented herself, the staff was lovely as well.
I have been to the restaurant many times since 2007. I love the fact that it is right next to the park and during the warm months you can walk after a meal. The inside has changed for the better and now has a cozy and comfy vibe. Is not loud and they don't rush you to eat fast or leave after food when sometimes the case in Taverna Kyklades. As for the meal I ordered the Sea Bass and it was phenomenal. We also ordered the Misala which was also the best I had in a long time. The lemon potatoes were not the best for me but my mom loved them better than in other places. As well goes for the Fried Whitening - I loved them and she didn't compare to other places. The French fries was soaking in oil so it was not the best. Probably was dropped to fry in a not extremely hot oil but was edible. Overall I am looking forward to going there again and for sure will order the sea bass, Greek salad and the baked beans. As for dessert like in many Greek places is a set dessert plate to share with halva and tea cracker cake- both very delicious and the right amount. They both had nuts so my son couldn't eat but we whipped the plate clean.
First off the view and atmosphere is unbeatable in Astoria. The service was great- reminded me of fine dining in Greece. As for the food- I was a little nervous when they brought out sliced bread as a complimentary starter, but everything to follow that was delicious. We ordered a bunch of plates to share and it was so fun to try bits and pieces of a lot. Will definitely bring guests visiting Astoria here!
You ever dream on eating on a cloud , this is where you should eat if so. I wish I could keep this place to myself but the service was unmatched they are gentle caring and patient, this is something you just want to keep to yourself forever but how else everyone is able to experience the delicate way food is served. May not have table setting worth presentations on 100% , but I swear they make every bite worth it.
It's a small place but food really yummy. Stuffs was very nice.
Authentic Greek restaurant in a very nice spot in Astoria. I went there for dinner, and I can't complain: the fish was very fresh and tasty, and the portions were pretty good. I would recommend this place!
