| This place is the real deal and is worth the trip to Cambridge alone. The $40 lobster sandwich actually has $40 worth of lobster on it, and each sandwich is made to order. I can’t image getting fresher food on dry land. The chowder is also amazing and don’t forget their house root beer and cream soda. The heated patio seating is a tad rustic; but the food more than makes up for it. Food: 5/5 | Service: 3/5 | Atmosphere: 2/5 Recommended dishes Clam Chowder, Lobster Salad Sandwich with Chips |
| Do you ever notice that seafood quality is inversely correlated to the quality of decor? If it’s a bare bones cafeteria, brown bag, it will be delicious. They say to get the lobster sandwich. I got the lobster sandwich. It was excellent. I didn’t want to rate the atmosphere because you come to Alive and Kicking to get great tasting seafood, not to stare at the art on the wall. Also, I can’t eat mayonnaise and they were really nice about it. They gave me a couple of lemons and with some of the hot sauce, it was a great meal. | Dine in | Brunch | $20–30 This was my second visit to Alive & Kicking, and it's still a good experience overall. Ordered 3 items: Lobster Sandwich, Clam Chowder, and Lobster Bisque. The Lobster Sandwich is basically the Maine style Lobster Roll, except in sandwich form. Maine style means served chilled and dressed in mayo vs. the CT style that's served warm and more buttery. The dressing is not overwhelming, so the lobster is still the highlight! The sandwich comes with a pack of chips. The clam chowder and lobster bisque were also great, though I wish they they served it a warmer (that may just be my preference). Both were served with a piece of toasted bread. On the ordering experience, you order from a counter, and they hand you a number so the servers can identify you and hand your order to where you're seated. Lastly, they have up to 3 parking spots available for patrons but if one car parks ineffficiently, the tendency is only 2 cars can fit. There's a nearby Walgreens you can park in (at your own risk).
